Is it possible to do these with the head still fitted? I know how to do Valve stem seals this way just need to know if its possible to do it with the 4.5L Twin Cam.
If not im happy to put up with the little bit of smoke on a start.
You watch your mouth around here mister, don`t force me to moderate you
My 80 has the same problem and I have come to live with it. Infact if the chev doesn`t get used in the buggy it`ll be set aside for the 80 when the 4.5 dies.

You could, but it would be a shit job....the cams, and then buckets would need to come off be you would have the retainers and collets inside the hole to get out....

Yeah thanks Andrew this is what i expected. I doubt there is rooom to get an overhead spring compressor in there?
My old cruiser motor did just that..went for years without any problems...good advice on the pcv as they clog up and let oil in to the manifold...but most probably as you expect if it puffs then gone. You could try some stp or similar with seal swell to stop leaks...

What about using extra fuel to the tune of 80lts for 300ks and pinging its head off under load. When I say load its a load of having foot on break and driving threw them.
Allmost forgot I cooked it a few weeks ago because of a heater hose
