MQ busted front spring hangers

Has this happened to anyone else? I remember hearing about this but i never really worried about it as it never happened to me untill this weekend. Next question, if so how have people come overcome this drama?

i'll post some pics of how we buch mechanic'd it out

your talkin about hanger rippin off the chassis, i had it happen to my old MQ, towed it home from lithgo. had it welded on by a smash repairs

mates did it on the birdsville track, welded a c section over the chassis and welded the bracket back on.
pretty common with a few miles up.

My LH one cracked right around, but didn't quite come off :shock: Had it welded back on, all good now

exact same thing that happened to me on the weekend... and i had just come in from the powerstation entrance about 10 mins up the road (not even up to the N.P. welcome to sign!) and it snapped clean off.... there went the MQ's long weekend of fun

Credit where credit is due, i did enjoy the LWB ride, however i had way more fun winching matty out of the bog in the 79 :D

did the same thing in my mq i took the shackle off and chained it to the chassis rail with a bit of wood inbetween we carved up with the chain saw then drove it out of wonnangatta station towards dargo got about half way to dargo when we could hear a funny noise couldn't work it out for a while till we saw the fan wobling bloody water pump. long hot tow home behind a mates 4b (dusty too).

its a fairly common break and a simple fix... dont just repair the broken one ....re weld em all and you know where you stand !!!!
