Its good that a place has been found to hold it on, but man that is a FUCKING long way to go for somebody like me on a very limited budget

To go to an event like this and about 12hrs from home I`d be silly not to tow my rig there, doing this will cost me about $1000 just in fuel

I just can`t see why it can`t be held on a place closer to Sydney. Don`t worry it costs me about $500 in fuel to tow my lux to Sydney and back. The closer to Sydney it is the more entrants you would get.

XRCC Round 3

Post by XTREME MMM »

My computer is fixed (I hope), had to take it back 3 times to get sorted out, so now I can give you some news.

Round 3 has been cancelled.

Over the past 2 weeks I have made 2 trips down to Rover Park & have talked to the owners regards holding a Round of XRCC there. They were very keen to have it happen. They only allow registered 4WD there, but it will be OK to run "OUTLAW" there. So this is it:-

Round 1 will be held on the long weekend in January (Insurance premitting). It will be held at Rover Park, which is 35kms from Tenterfield on the Casino road. I plan to run it on Saturday & Sunday with trophy presentation Sunday night, this will give everyone a full day to get home.

Round 2 will be back at the LMP later in the year, possible July or August.

As for helping set up the course. It will be left to MMM. The areas I have been looking at down at Rover Park are one big bit of solid rock on a flat surface with a lot of jump ups and gullys in. I know it will be completely different then what I have run before.

Just on a different note, one of the main changes to the rules will be that window nets will have to be fitted to the drivers side & if you have a buggy with a central sit in you will need window nets both sides.

That is all for now.

Regards David (MMM)

Thanks Dave for the UPDATE!!!!!

Good to see BIG LEDGES and DEAP GEORGES instead of annoying pebbles!

Sam will still win no matter what course you make  but at least its going to be easier to put on a show when theres big stuff to roll on!

I like the idea of window netting too!! Anything to make our sport SAFER!!

It may take a bit of getting use to but if it saves my ugly mug than thats a good thing!

Once again, thanks!!! :) :)

Pos.
I'll pay that come back.

I'm really looking forward to the next event.
I was kinda hoping that it may have been a little closer to us down here.
But oh well.

Yeah i think even the Qld boyz were hoping it would be somewhere closer to sydney, just so we could return the favour!

However i also think that the terrain at Rover Park will make up for any travel time!!!

I am keen as mustard again and i hope we can muster up a bigger turn out in both competitors and spectators!!!
