We are looking to purchase a Landcruiser and not too sure which way to go. We would like to buy a 80 series. I am selling my Tarago for a Landcruiser only because our Tarago does not have 4x4 so we've decided to go for the Landcruiser and we are not sure whether we would be better off with a duel fuel or a diesel. Most of the driving will be done by myself around town ( taking kids to school/shopping etc etc) and on weekends heading out to the bush. We do plan to do some long trips some day but for the moment it will be mainly used as a every day car. Is it more economical to go for the gas/petrol and running it mostly on gas? I know you get more milage out of diesel but is that the way to go for short distance driving? Also I know you get more k's out of a diesel but what would be the average k's you would expect to get out of a duel fuel car? Do they start breaking down after you reach the 200,000 mark? What sort of k's should we be looking at if we decide to buy a duel fuel? Does anyone own a duel fuel and go to the bush in it and how do they perform?
Can anyone shed some light?
Regards Toni

HELP WITH BUYING A LANDCRUISER
It's not the size that counts!!
Suzuki - small in size
BIG on performance!

I can't help with all your questions about dual fuel, because mine is a diesel. I can tell you though, that I get about 13.5L/100km in it around town, little bit less on the highway (between 12.5 and 13 on highway usually). I would be surprised if you were able to get that sort of figure from a petrol cruiser. Mine has 307,000km on it and the only problem is it uses a little bit of oil, not excessive amounts though.
