Post by nicbeer »

thought i would post up the new zook runs. 1.6 mpfi into sierra.

small issues with fuel pump (one dead) but otherwise all good.

started wiring today > finshed today at least to start + run. wired in a 446i alarm + integrated into sierra harness. needs a massive cleanup and wire wrapping.

gotta work out why most dash is not working, oil pres and tach, and light work.

picks up damn good. luvin it sofar.

thx

will do.

got all std zook bits working now. inc heater, wipers, ign. all dash lights etc.

found out that the dash fuel gauge and temp have got a common 7v wire inside cluster. the wire was fried in the fuel side. once removed and soldered all good. vss inside factory cluster also.

some pics of it moving now.

snorkel also made its money worth with the river crossings and big mud/water holes. lockers and 1.6 efi is awesome.

wont worry about getting gears for now as could crawl on idle easily for now all the hills i was playing on. and power is there when u need it. have to look at cranky idle still and minor issues under there.

fuel tank now has about a 5L dent in there, damn coke cans. going for a long range arb maybe.
and transfer mount dead, will be making my own there.

bascially for first trip away from metro area for the build it worked v/well and mates were impressed by its capabilities.

Now for the pics, will get more off mates video and his cameras laters

Well Done mate

1.6 is fun huh! They sit on the Rev limit pretty happy too!

They jump Pretty good in Low range on little hump in the bush too  !

Ive found mine to still need trans gears because It stalled up difficult rutted hills that are really steep. You cant attack them because of the holes/rutts and my gearing with stock 1.3 trans is was too high for really low controlled stuff.

Do you run the 1l trans with 30's or 31's??

bazooked - thought u would know. it is the collie area near big tree road. that track in pics is near the back off bobs hill sort of area next to a fenceline. i had a look at bobs and thought nope not for me for now anyway.

Remy - running 31s with NT 3.9 ratios in WT diffs and also the 1L case. yes the 1.6 can provide some kick in low when needed.

83jack - cargo barrier is made by jaram originally. check my members thread for some more pics, link is in sig. did quite a few tracks down there but this is all i got on the still camera as most on vid. barrier is awesome for tying stuff down in back.
