Installing snorkel on LPG motor

Hi,
I currently have a 88' TB42 Maverick with an Impco Gas system (Mixer sits on top of the carby) and subsequently, the air filter is exposed to dust, water and mud.
What I want to know, is whether there is an off the shelf air filter cover that houses the mixer and runs straight to the snorkel duct??

Or do you have to buy a 'stockpot' and cut a hole in the bottom to accomodate the opening in the mixer and a hole on the side for pipe to the snorkel???
I have done a search and haven't really found what im after.

Surely, someone would sell such a product considering many LPG TB42's would commonly cross water crossings.

If not, can anyone post detailed photos of there 'homemade' mixer enclosers.

easy fix, buy a diesel....





dont have any expirience with LPG systems, but i would think it wouldnt be much work (and heaps cheaper) just to whack a snorkle system 2getha yaself

you can get a cover from impco for the 300a in a patrol. Either plastic or steel ( i have both) the plastic one limits airflow heaps though.

Is plastic can supplied with your impco gas system air/dust/water tight. I had an impco system installed and the plastic can is a joke. I don't have any confidence in it and am resigned to the fact that I will have to design and make my own before i do any water work again.

Unless your can is good then I will buy one of those.

hi mate

to seal the plastic one, run 100mph tape around the base, and silicon the top to the mixer and on the air intake side. Instant watertight.

teh steel one is the same concept as the plastic one, just sturdier.

another way to seal the plastic ( or steel one) at the bottom without 100mph tape is to cut a new base ring that is wider so the top hat sits ontop of it, then silicon it at the bottom aswell. quite easy
