hi can any one help my i want to put a 351 clvo in to my gq is it a good
conversion or is it not worth doing it has any one doing one i want to now
be for i spend a cent on it

I have had both motor conversions in two different FJ40s that i owned a few years ago.
350 Chev in one and 351 clev in the other.
the chev is the common conversion but i my opinoin the ford motor was better in the long run.
the Ford motor requires the Bronco sump which is pricy.
The dizzy in my 351 was XD electronic one and even though it is at the front it never was afficted by water were as my chev 350 fj40 with the dizzy at the back always broke down spark the momment i did a river crossing ( pionts dizzy)
Another point to is the rear main seals in Chevs are a 2 peice half moon seal and they are shithouse, i was alway chasing rear main oil leaks, the ford motor never leaked.
The other think worth checking is the V angle on the ford in wider and exhaust systems can be affected, on my 351 the pipes had to come over the chassis rails were as the 350 the pipes could run on the inside of the chassis rails.
I was told time and time again know one puts ford motors in toyotas, but after doing the job with a motor that i had from a XD ESP that i owned i was rapped with the conversion.
There are pros and cons for both.
But donot be put of going the Clevo.
