Feroza - Where have you got your CB mounted?

Post by daRangie »

G'day all

I'm looking for some inspiration as to where to mount my CB (Uniden UH077) in my Feroza. I was considering making a custom centre console... Any ideas and pics very much appreciated. :)

Cheers

I bought the slimline GMC TX3200

I cut the plastic pocket which sits under the CD Player and slid the UHF into this. It was otherwise unused space and it works perfectly
I'm not sure its got enough room for a single DIN unit though...

Geez, that's tiny!! :)
The UH077 is a big ol' clunker, but works well.

You can buy a centre console for the dash, which locates a DIN size unit in front of the gauges. These gauges also come forward in the new console...

You could try to fab one up... or fork out and buy a proper one.

I used to have mine mounted on to the rear of the centre console...no good if you have rear seat passengers though.

If you are considering mounting it under the dash, be VERY careful that it's not in a spot where it'll shave your (or your passenger's) kneecap off in the event of a smash.

I currently have an external speaker screwed onto the top of the dash and run a handheld connected to that. The speaker is positioned so that I can still see the clock and instruments.

Mines a remote head uniden. The box is up over the glove box with the head mounted over the change slot on the drivers side.

This means the mike can mount on the side of the instrument binacle which is very convienient ( at least for me... ).

Thanks very much for the advice guys. I really like the dash console idea! I should be able to make something similar to that.
