Jimny emission control system warning

Post by brianstevens »

Hi all,

I had a TJM snorkel fitted to the Jimny today and when I collected it the "emission control system" warning light was illuminated. I'm guessing the sensor may have been damaged while the snorkel was being fitted, but as I'm going wheelin tomorrow I figured it best to seek your collective advice.

Worry ? or Don't worry?

Eeeeeeuww.... new Jimnys.

Make sure you report the problem BEFORE you go wheeling to whoever installed the snorkel so they have to fix it.

Might have upset the oxygen sensor with the increased airflow :?

Thanks Squik, I was thinking along those lines also. Pain in the ass though, the boys are meeting me long before the store opens in the morning.

I'm thinking that even though the airflow may have changed the car should be ok to drive without causing harm.

Would you agree?

As it happens the mighty jimny automatically adjusted the fuel air mixture to suit the new snorkel all by it's little self. And it did well with the boys on the track over the weekend also.

I love it!!
