has anyone got or heard any info bout these belt driven air compressors? they are advertised in 4wd monthly. just curious if they are any good or not. they are clutch operated from the dash. any info guys?

Yep, I've got one. Its basically just an air conditioning compressor that pumps air into a tank using a switch on dash for operation (locks in clutch on compressor), a pressure switch to turn it off when it reaches a certain pressure and a check valve to purge air if the pressure switch fails. You can have outlet/s on the tank to inflate tyres, run air tools, run lockers or even pressurise distributor caps to keep water out.
Do a search on Oba or "on board air". Its pretty popular on here and there has been plenty of threads discussing it with instructions on how to set it up.

Called endless air, they have a electric clutch that runs of a pressure switch.
They are very good, if you have the space to fit one, but no motor running no air. if you use one you will need to have a heavy duty braided air line ( the stuff that comes with the kit is crap).
I also have one that i am not using siting in the shed with about a 2m braided line on it.

i set mine up on my standar air con compressor in 88 2.4 hilux i got a 35 litre tank from truck wreckers and can fill to 160 psi in 2 mins at 2k revs
If i just overtook you head to your nearest mechanic
