I have a '91 carby GQ running dual fuel and recently when starting from cold the carby or auto choke appears to get stuck on start up. When I start it will rev on up to 2000rpm and stay there until it gets warm. This happens on gas and petrol. I tried carby cleaner on every orrifice of the carby with no joy.
Any ideas what the problem could be and what I need to do to get it sorted
If push comes to shove and I need a carby rebuild what sort $$$ am I in for and can anyone recommend someone in Perth for the job?
Does it come back down once you have reved the motor? If so thats just the auto choke.
If not there is a high speed idle cam. Its white and plastic and sits just right of where the throttle is, sometimes it gets stuck in the up position, keeping the revs up. Give it a spray with some type of teflon lube or something like that see if it works.
