A land-rover I bought had the floor panels and some other bits painted in some crap like that.
Horrible, horrible stuff. Doesn't stop rust, metal will just rust away underneath anyway, and it was just about impossible to remove - had to throw away a bunch of aluminium floor panels painted with the crap.

can do if it lifts and surface isn't prepped properly, same as any waterproof skin, however properly applied polyurea products bond pretty tightly with the substrate... have a chat with Tim at Xtreme Coatings for the full guff, he used it in rebuilding their Cruiser salvaged from underground.. pics of b4 and after at;ISUZUROVER wrote:A land-rover I bought had the floor panels and some other bits painted in some crap like that.

Could also look into another product called "Hardliner" which can be painted into the back of utes etc. Rolls on, puffs up a bit. Good grippy surface, looks absolutely awesome in finished job. Was going to paint this onto the floor of my zook after I'd removed all the vinyl that was just trapping water against the metal, but sold the zook as it was when bought the patrol.
If this thing ends up in water as deep as the zook used to, then I'll consider pretty quickly ditching the carpets and painting the same stuff into the Patrol, but the fact is, the zook sat way closer to the ground than the Patrol, so water would need to be a lot deeper to be a problem.
