Gq temp gauge/ Egt is this still safe?
Gq temp gauge/ Egt is this still safe?
I have put in a aftermarket temp gauge and its reading 90c.
I have it on the heater fead hose is this accurate??
Also I have a pyro. I have a td42 with a turbo and lgp set up
With gas off i get 500 max
With gas on 575-600 max
Is 575 getting to high? I am running 12psi should i drop it a bit?
What will lower my egts??

You want to keep EGT's on a td42 below 500, 575 is quite high and get into melting piston territory, though i know of comp rigs with temps consistently running above 750
If your gas system is making it run that hot, maybe its doing more harm then good

backing off the boost will not fix your problem. as it increases the amount of fuel in relation to air. increasing the boost will most likely fix the problem tho.......depending on efficiency of your turbo set up and if you wish to run more boost. or you could have the fuel backed off a bit
if it were me id put in a 2 stage boost controller n run low boost on straight diesel and higher boost on lpg/diesel. boost levels are up to you but get it tuned by a pro

ok thanks I will give him a call.
I droped the boost a bit seems to be a bit better as I have a compensater on the injector pump. More boost more fuel. I then clamped the line to it and that reduced the temp by heaps.
What is the max temp I should get to?
would 500 be ok?
Is it safe to hold it on 500?
