1.6 Engine and Box Weight??

Post by Remydog05 »

Ok now before anyone says it ive looked in the bible and the threads didnt work. Ive just looked at the web for about a hour and no luck apart from full kerb or GMV weights.

So! Does anyone know the weights of the following?

1/ 1.6 efi motor

2/ 1.6 Auto box

3/ 1.6 5spd box

Thanks!

not sure individual but

cost me for about 400kg (88 shape 16v auto frontcut)

i would say the auto was about 70-80kg as i just sent one to melb.

engine complete would have to be aorund 100kg with all acc's bolted on still

Thanks Nic

Just trying to figure out a close estimate for the engineer.

I was guessing Motor was about 100 to 120ish

AutoBox was about 60 to 70ish

The motor could not be that heavy, could not be much more than 45Kgs as I can lift one to waist height without any real problems (my back is little bit sore now because last weekend I put a 1.6 im my little red sled unassisted ... ie no engine hoist etc)
That was the complete motor (8v carb with clutch, exhaust manifold, carb etc ... )

60KG?

Thats a heck of a lot lighter than what ive been told??

A Zuk mechanic told me the Vitara autos are 60KG on there own.

I would have thought the efi engine would be 100 plus easy?

How ?
They are not that different apart from the slightly taller all alloy block. There could not be more than a few KG's in it...

Vit auto being 60kg's, that would have ot be a 4 speed as the old three speed traumatic would not be that heavy I am sure.

I will see what the shipping weight (if it has one) is on my 1.6.. if I still have the con note anywhere.
