i think the tacho can come off the alternator w output. I was looking into a vdo tacho for my 60 series and that's where i was going to do it.
At first I thought it was a sea anemone, upon closer inspection I realised it was a funky ball of tits from outer space.

I think i remember reading another post about this a while back??

From memory the only other way (apart from alternator) is to get a GXL fuel pump that has a specific tacho output. (I got quoted around $800 to change over mine!! )

Having said all this, I'm going to try another route!
As I understand, tachos normally run off a negative pulsed signal (usually off a dizy in a petrol), so I'm going to try an NPN proxy switch running off a stepped disc mounted on a fanbelt pulley.

I've got all the parts, just got to mount them :?
(After I refit the box, t-case, pto, clutch, and both diffs  )

anyways, I'll let ya know how I go

I'm also interested in the oil pressure gauge.
(I've got the same - '92 pov pack 1HZ)
