you can just drive it but you have lost some boost due to the intercooler restricition. A easy fix is to run the boost hose from the wastegate, from before the cooler to after the cooler. This will give you the factory boost after the intercooler but will also make the turbo work harder.
if ya know what i mean :?

I would be interested in knowing how much gain you get from fitting the intercooler. I drive the same 4wd however i have been advised not to fit an intercooler as you supposedly dont get much gain. What kind of intercooler did you fit and where did you get it from?

Thanks
Phil

yeah sure i got pics, post your e-mail and i will send them.

i just finished some of th piping today surprisingly went well but you have to move alot of things (air filter box replace with a smaller one, the intake manifold needs to be fliped 180 degrees and cut to suit but its easier than it sounds.) and plus i forgot to mention i have mounted it in the bull bar so it was alot easier .

i got the intercooler from ebay for $99 new its 550 x 175 x 70 but the catch is i hacked out the bullbar where the winch goes but hey hiluxes dont need winches hehehe . and i have used DIY piping from ebay but it has turned out really well.

You tend to get what you pay for when it comes to intercoolers, long tanks and heaps of small lenght pipes is much much much better and less restrictive than small tanks with less amount of long tubes....
