I know this should be in auto elec but no one reads there much.
I am going to set up dual bats for winching.
To start with I am just going to wire both batteries together with maybe fitting a big marine switch between the two later for isolating.
Are Optimas still the go for a top quality sealed high power battery?
I heard a few people were having issues with the red tops.
Are the yellow tops still good?
Or should I be looking at another brand? Odyssey maybe?

I am biased 'cause I've got these and get them for local club members but ... OPTIMA yellow top still seem to be the way to go. Noone has had performance issues with them, only one member dropped his onto concrete and after 2 years it needed replacing (the silicon he sealed the broken case with had come away, and cell dried out). Let me know if you want a price.
