Ive got a freind who brought an adapter from the states and now has a hilux 5sp + hilux twin tranfers mated up to his 1.6 vit engine in a sierra. he used cruiser drive shafts with hilux diffs.....cool. You need a new tunnel cause the lux box & transfer dont fit in the zook one.

I have vit 1.6l + lux G52 5spd + 2 lux t-cases - very long combo!
wat did u do about drive shafts??
i used a stock HJ47 cruiser front shaft (cardan),for my rear shaft.
Custom front shaft using spare cruiser & lux bits that i had layin in my junk pile. unis both ends - no cardan joint.
lux front shafts may work in the rear also if ur wb is shorter, as they r shorter than cruiser
we now have the engine and box sitting in the zok chasis and the drive shaffts look as tho they are gunna have a REAL steep angle...
this depends on a number of factors;

1. height of t-case crossmember

2. ride height

3. rear diff positon ie. swb, lwb or othrwise. front shouldn't be an issue.

4. single t-case or duals?

i moved my rear diff back approx 8" (hilux diffs, hilux rear springs reversed).
you have to rotate your pinion up so that you have no angle on the diff end uni joint. this gives a less severe angle at the t-case output, and no bad vibes!

if u use a cardan shaft and rotate ur pinion up, and still have angle issues, u may need to move rear diff back, or lower ur engine/t-case mounts.
the adaptor is no problem.. its gota 4age in it and we have teh engine and box sitting in the chassis, it also has llux diffs/springs.. just looks like the angle on the drive shafts is too steep.. im thinkin cv shafts..
if u use cardan or cv shafts u will need to rotate the pinion up to avoid vibrations.

if u use unis on both ends try to keep the output & pinion flanges within 3 degrees of each other, also to avoid vibes.
uni joints will usually operate at steeper angles than cardan joints will, its just that using cardans will allow u to rotate the pinion up for a better angle at the t-case flange.

don't use a front cardan shaft out of a ifs lux either, as they don't travel to as steep an angle as solid axle lux or cruiser ones!

hope this helps!

BTW what g-box/t-case combo are u planning to use?

i am doing it now, also have it sitting in the chassis but got body sitting back on.
using double cardon lux shafts hoping to reuse the 1's i had made for the zuk t/case lux diffs as they have only seen 4wd twice.
might have to swap them front to back will hopefully know by this afternoon.
