Help needed - Hurricane wheel nut

Post by DL »

Hi All,

Have lost one wheel nut to suit a Hurricane rim. 74 RR. Same rims as on Cloughy's trayback. No-one in Geelong can help. Few questions-

1. Does anyone have a spare one?

2. Can I get a set of security nuts to suit a 74 RR from somewhere that I can get machined to fit? If so where from? Been told that Disco nuts are same thread. T or F.

3. What is the stud size and thread?

TIA, DL

series one discoverys have the same studs as rangies. I don't believe the really early rangies had different studs to later classics, but someone may correct me here. Don't remember what the stud size/thread is.
84 Rangie, 3 inch spring lift, 2 inch body, Megasquirted 4.6, R380, rear Maxi, 34x11.5 JT2s. Simex FM installed.

Thanks Ranging,

I'll see if I can get one and 'play' with it. Must be wreckers that are possibilities. Have welded two standard nuts together that are getting machined to suit tomorrow as an interim measure.

cheers, DL
