heavy duty tow bar
hi,
i am on the look out for a car trailer to tow my track car from esperance to perth and back for track meets. at the moment my towbar i think is only rated at 1000kg, is there a heavier duty tow bar available for the feroza?
thanks.

Don't think the tow bar would be your biggest problem, problem would be what your towing would weigh a lot more than the feroza
EDIT: Something constructive, just go to a local towbar shop and ask (coldy's?). They usually make setups to suit each vehicle. But i'd say if your towing another car (1000kg atleast? + tandem trailer, 700kgs+ ) you'd already be way above the rosa's ability.

60 + Turbo, 33"s
it seemed to tow my dads 14ft boat loaded full of crap (read bloody heavy) from bundaberg qld to sa and here to wa ok, and that was before i put the turbo on it.
i just wanted a better/stronger towbar set-up as my cars are worth more to me than dads boat... haha

Hayman Reese are the no. 1 towbar name... and they only have the 1000kg model to suit a Feroza. No hitch reciever type setups at all.
I strengthened my original setup on my Rocky, would be quite the same for you Fez.... if you need details and pics let me know.
I put RHS between the two chassis rails, and bolted this to the standard gooseneck that has the 4 bolts just below the rear door.
It is so damn strong... I did this becuase I snapped the towbar plate when snatching my bro in law out from the clay

feroza is only rated to tow 1100kg, towing a car trailer with a car onboard is just crazy. in the event of an accident all if any insurance is void as the vehicle is overloaded. not to mention the personel liability for damage, injury or death.
sorry mate but if your looking at transporting your vehicle by car trailer it may be time to upgrade the roza.

The towing factor is mainly to do with braking or lack of with too much weight behind you.ferozamaniac wrote:I been pulling out of mud a KIA SORENTO (must be at least 2000 kg) but i dont know what could happen after an hour of pulling
A good snatch strap allows even a zook to pull out a Troopy

+1 - Your main issue here is the vehicles legal maximum towing load, which is way under what even a lighweight track car and braked double boggie trailer is going to weigh.
Personally i think towing such a large load with a roza is dangerous and stupid. Not only to you but to other road users.
As for the zook pulling out a troopy Nick, yeah been there done that. Pulled a MQ with a dead motor out of the big hole at hilsbrough quarry, its all to do with traction and gearing
Layto....
