ditto to everything Bereta said. Congrats to the 3 top teams too.........
It was our 1st Navrun 'proper' .....and we have to say, we had a ball. After arranging 4 practice runs for everyone else, it seems to of paid off too, cos our pupils did us proud.
We were personally somewhat peed off tho that our puter decided it didn't want to play or speak to our gps on Sat. .....after waiting so long for this event too & not to mention the build up  ........ but thanks to Brian & Barbs  their set up worked fine, well almost (you must remember to save everything Brian)
....so we managed to enjoy oursleves relying on them all of Sat, which was a huge ask seeing as they'd never done a navigation event before.
What a beaut. nav area Sunny Corner turned out to be also..... we really enjoyed the stunning diverse scenery, the variety of tracks/ courses and the neat campground which was close to everything also.
Roll on the next one Rudes....I think you've got everyone who was there hooked now!
I know we also need to come back with all our equipment working and swop the placings with you know who! ;) tho we were happy with 5th all things considered.

If we have time we'll prob run another navfun exercise.....so look out for a posting in Outerlimits .....

Thanks again Rudes and everyone involved for making it such a huge success and roll on the next one in Aug/Sept.

Cheers,

I'd just like to echo everyone before me's thanks. For the majority of our team we were all new at this type of navigational driving. I certainly loved the stick map concept.

We had a bit of local knowledge onboard, which I must thank Pam for her interest an a 60 series that seemed to have a mind of its own..... I must get that fixed.

Congrats to the top placing teams. Our 2nd overnight just didnt cut it at the end of the day. I guess we need to brush up on our theory.

We'll certainly be back for the next one in NSW, we might even venture south and try one in VIC...... Thanks again to Rudi and his Dad. Loved the chilli & garlic meat.

Troopy you would have loved it, was a great weekend, my highlight was Peters ( Rudi's dad) short black to wake me up in the morning!

Gotta say the mixed grill and the showers at the truck stop down the road are a life saver!

Suprisingly wasnt to bad, still made good time was home by about 930pm. At 100km/h or so felt ok, bit shakey round the corners. Just gotta get it all fixed up and new tire now. :bad-words: Oh well joys of it.

Thanks Rudi for putting on a top notch event. :D This was our first Navrun and definately won't be our last.It was also my fist time on the wrong side of the car,not too sure I like the navi position much, I didn't have anyone to blame when it all went pear shaped  We definately found out where we need to imporve and will be back a bit better equiped next time.

Thanks to all the sponsors for their support and a big thanks to all the other competitors for helping to make it a fantastic weekend..

Post by cebarry »

yeeehaaaa  this early bird just opened an e from Rudes in which he gives the new Navrun dates for Sept in Bathurst....15th /16th Sept. entry forms on his website......$300 a 2 car team again.
I'm sure he's posting an entry on Outerlimits......any minute now too!

Eugene will no doubt run one or two nav exercise practices before then and so keep a lookout for when and where. If you want to be kept in the loop then send us your contact email address.

Remember to brush up on that gps General knowledge too.....did anyone find out what gps is in Russia afterall? other than suggestions of Vodka!!! or Spootnik?? ;)
