cant select N or 4L on an MK

Post by k1barh »

i have a (new) old MK that i just bought the only problem is that i cant select N with the transfer case (therefore neither can i select 4L) I disconnected the linkages but was still not able to select anything other then 2H and 4H, is this a common problem, do i need a new transfer case as this one is stuffed, or can i fix it and if i can fix it how? your vast knowledge and experience is greatley appreciated

thanks guys

try installing the gearbox with the wrong thrust bearing. only for the first two attempts. then do it right..might need a new clutch though.

Try giving 4wdsystems.com.au a try, 08 8369 0033. they do kits so may be able to help.

I got a mechanic replaced all the bearings in my transfer cost me $500.00 Is your transfer the T100 (divorsed) or the T130 (non divorsed) mine is divorsed so it took bout 45 min for me to drop it out, it would probably take longer to remove the T130.

My transfer would all ways "stick" trying to get it into N and 4L, much better now, although it sticks sometimes, i just make sure the gearbox is in N, sometimes i drive the truck forwards the back and it just slips in easy.
