Gen 3 Belt part number

Post by bru21 »

I have a feeling my belt is too long. I just checked the part number its

6PK1995 EB
GM92089561

could someone check theirs and compare please.

its off a vx 2002 and I am talking about the accessories belt - the longer one not the ac belt. I think this is the cause of my steering woes.

I haven't looked up the ryco sites etc as they are normally wrong or out of date from my recent experience.

cheers bru

According to my listings here at work, the 6pk1995 is the correct belt for that motor. Does it have a sprung belt tensioner whick could be buggered?

hey mate Thanks for that. I went to one place and it is correct, then to another and the book said 6pk1980 - which is 155mm shorter so I ordered one. It appear the tensioner is ok just should have a shorter belt. Its always hard to know what you are getting when you buy a wrecked motor

yeah i know ryco don't do belts. I have had big dramas with the ryco listings. the last 3 items I have purchased have been wrong :x

the Belt in the new gates book is 1980 and it fitted sweet, also my power steer now works sweet. althought the belt was $48 trade
