Troopy engine conversion Options ???????????????????????????
The toyota section ........
I feel like I've just walked into the "Ladies Toilets"
everything is so weird
Ok ................. to the problem ( & YES I had a glance @ ya bible )
Yota troopy with an absolutely shagged donk, no it aint worth even making an anchor out of it ( was it ever ?? .... nope !! )
Option A
What are the engine conversions ??????
The guy that owns it ( fatherinlaw ) is a Ford man and he wants to drop a EFI 6 cylinder into it.......
( sounds like going from really really really really bad to WORST posiable combination ever to me )
So what kits are out there ?
Whos done one ?
Whats it like ?
Any one got any links for the above questions they can post up ?
Option 'B'
tow it to the nearest scrap dealer and walk away
Kingy
can I go now ..... ppl are looking at me weird

yeh i agree with the above, less yota bashing more info.
like what year and what motor did it have in it.
the ford efi 6 is a good conversion if he is still looking for economy with added power. probly on of the cheapest to. or change to a yota 4.5l 6 shouldn't be hard to bolt up if it's a post 90 model.
without knowing the answers to the above questions it's hard to say what would best suit him.

Super cheap, less a 20% discount and thats still a tad too much for him at the moment. this has to be done strictly on a tight as budget..... I aint payin this time.

It doesnt do anything hard at all, the average farm ute would get a harder time than this thing. Economy isnt a priority as it has LPG to feed from and it wont ever see much petrol anyway ( been LPG vehicle since 1995 ).known 2 wrote:yeh i agree with the above, less yota bashing more info.

As for the year ..... I'm guessing its a 90 or 91 model .... about there anyway ... fj75 series
As for the motor.... im guessing its a 3F, but it is hooked up to a 5spd box what ever it is.

does anyone know whether the 1fz-fe will bolt up to the 3f box?
that would save some money on a bell housing adapter. and more power than the ford, but probly the motor would cost more.

thast still 800kg hevier than a comodore or 600kg hevier than a hilux.
and i would imagine the older 47's would be a bit lighter than a 75.
