Hi all, at the present i have a 2.8 gq td, am looking to get a gu 4.2 st or 3 lt, have heard that the 3 lt have a bit more power than a 4.2?. finding a good 4.2 is hard to find anyway? any thoughts??

Ive had both.and 4.2 wins
4.2 will last longer by far

Agree with thunder.

I've also had both and wouldn't go back to the 3.0.

Do some mods to the 4.2 and it will fly without sacrificing fuel economy.
Do a search, there's heaps of info.

Go with the 4.2, that is unless you want an excuse to go for another engine later... My ZD30 is getting a 6.5L Chev as I type!
2000 GU II, 6.5L Chev Diesel (ex ZD30), lift, bar+winch, rear bar, drawers, fuel tanks I need a personal loan to fill... most of the regular touring gear.
