question about factory rear locker

I have a 91 swb nh (import) it has the factory rear locker .. just wanting to find out if there is a way to make it lock without it having to be in 4x4 so i can lock the diff in 2wd ??

Yes it is possible by using another switch which bypasses the ECu to turn the pump on and of and then getting a power wire to the switch on the diff.


BUT, the question is WHY?

i was just curious if it was possible and mite b a handy thing to have .. also when i broke my diff the other week cudent put it in 4x4 and locker deffinately would of helped me get back to the main road .. thanks for your reply
