no more maxi portals and possible move to NSW

Post by def90 »

dropped in to maxi drive the other day and hard a yarn to find out that mal wont be producing maxi portals anymore  .

this is due to legal advice that even though the purchaser signs an indemnity form, when they are possibly on sold, the new owner hasn't signed such forms - possibly leaving him (maxi drive) open to legal action against him if the vehicle fitted with portals is involved in a crash, even though they may not be the direct cause

and there 'may or may not be' an interested party to buy maxi drive, if this party 'may or may not' buy maxi drive they 'could' move it to NSW. ;)

P.S. has anyone seen mals 'farm truck' that he is building? portals, full custom chassis, lockers, etc etc - very nice yellow machine

Yeah i've had a good look at the "K118", 750's centrepede looking tires, awsome farm-truck.
You have to look closely at the little things he's made and changed.

Sorry no pics :D

yep seen the yellow farm truck and it is great... also no pics but some nice litle improvements to help with bush mechanics etc... eg: something like 4 bolts and he can drop a whole front wing off it  new door sleeves, new dash, everything simplified to the max so nothing can break

I am picking up my Rangie from Ricks at Nerang on Friday. Rick is fitting front and rear maxi's as well as 4.11 CW&P's for me. Mal did a really good price for me on the front and rear maxi's and I am going to go around to his joint on Friday to thank him. I will take a camera and try and sneak some pics.

Cheers

Hey Andrew, saw your truck in Rick's this morning with it's guts hanging out......good lookin' set you have there. You should get out with us Gold Coast Land Rover Owners for a run sometime as with your car you would fit in nicely.

Must take a trip down to Mal's soon before operations move plus been meaning to price up some rock crawlers properly for ages............still wont be able to afford them though i'm sure

Thanks Mick

I do plan to do that!.....as soon as I get it back from Ricks, I have new springs and shocks to go in then I need to get and learn how to wheel properly.

I have been keeping an eye on the Gold Coast Land Rover Owners site and the next proposed "Trav trip". I will be there!

Cheers

Andrew
