rattle rattle
I own a 2005 SWB Patrol (petrol) with Middle East specs. When I accelerate, and the engine revs are below 2500 RPM, I hear a rattle, not unlike the sound of change rattle in a pocket. I've had problems with gaskets before. I'm wondering if there would be a problem with a seal on the exhaust. Any ideas?
Could be detonating, I dont know if the engine specs are identical, they may be higher in compression or have a different advance curve designed for higher octance fuel.
First check your timing at idle Aus model should be 10 degrees. Start there, may be other things too. Possible issue with power valve in carby, may be lean when loaded under 2500 rpm. This too can cause detonation.
I would say you'd hear and exhaust leak all the way through the rev range.
