Ahhh, Steve Azzopardi's car.

Saw this car with only 3" spring and 3" Bl at Cruserkhana, (about) 1998, and then in this form at Tuff Truck '00. Missed entry because they were 45 minutes late for scruitineering.

To this day, still the best built sierra I have ever seen.
I would love to be able to build a car this thoroughly.

It's worth far far more than this. Pictures don't do it justice. I spent a very long time laying under this car soaking it up.

Interesting - rear coilovers originally ran on the inside of the rails and were under the floor. I am sure that the outboarded location makes the car work better but is far less neat.

About the only problem I could ever see with the car was a lot of rear steer under flex, but all things considered, it would be hard to better with that much flex.

As Steve said, you really have to see this car to appreciate the workmanship that has gone into it, and sure some things may be done differently, but bear in mind it was built 7 years ago and is still an extremely capable vehicle.

If you look carefully (not altogether apparent in these pictures) you will see that the top shock mount is pivoted front and rear and drops down to give more travel after the shock reaches maximum extension. The small shocks then dampen the action of the pivot (one small shock each side at the rear).

Lots of other interesting mods e.g. fully floating rear axles etc etc.

It drives fine on the road with the rear stabilizer bar connected. :)
