Largest Factory Tyres for Rangie and Disco

Just wanted to know the largest ever factory tyres that rangies were issued with (I think that they were 31 inch).

and Discos, which I believe may only be the stock 29 inch as some minor guard chopping to the rear quarter is required to get 31s on.

Can you guys confirm for me pls.

i have run 750x16s on stockies on rangie with no problems at all there about 32/33"
range rover & series one landy!

My D2 came with standard 29" rubber and it is generally accepted that 32" is the max you can go on a D2 without chopping guards. I ran 32" muds for ages with zero rubbing and now run 33" with minor rubbing.........grinder is coming out this weekend :twisted:

Hope this helps, not sure about D1's though apart from the fact they need guard chopping a bit earlier on in the rear.

235/70/16 is largest fitted to D1's but D2's had 16-18" rims so will fit larger rubber, 265/75/16's fit good on a RRC with only steering lock adjustment needed.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

265/75R16s is what I'm running at present on my Rangie. I've got a set of Dunlop MT2s on and as well as steer lock adjustment, I had to trim the forward edge of the rear inner wells (behind the door). First time I took it out after fitting them they rubbed savage and upon inspection, the return lip on the aforementioned edge had neatly sliced the knobs 1/2 way off on the outer tyre edges. Inside door still gets rubbed by the tyres (pulled off door seal there too). I should note this is a 4 door!! :armsup:

even though it says 265/75 I would check actual diameter. I think the MT2s are of generous proportions!!

I've got 265/75 16 coopers on a '93 RRC with about 2 inch lift. They rub when twisted up, front and back and steering sucks now I've adjusted the steering stops. 245/75 16 didn't rub, but the 265s look better, give more clearance and I've got defender gearing in my transfer so I need the diameter so engine isn't revving too hard on highway. Offset rims and a bit of cutting should fix above mentioned issues, then on with 285/75 16 and see what rubs then.

Is it leagl to run 235-85 16 on a 1996 Disco in QLD ?
I have a set sitting here I want to fit but the Missus is putting the stops on it till i can say for sure that the insurance will cover the car with them on
