I am getting a CB fitted and have been quoted $450 for a Uniden one all up fitted with ariel, is this ok????

easy as to fit yourself the radio unless they are doing a dash install. The aerial is not that bad but if u have to resolder a new plug on the end it can get messy.

Soldering a new plug on the end is easy, or even better see if you can get hold of a crimping tool.

probably not bad as that is a cheap UHF radio, I've seen them going for $280 maybe less at the shops not websites.

So having the radio/ariel and installed for $450 wouldn't be bad as ariels seem to be $100 or so for good ones?

ebay has some good priced UHFs if ya keep an eye out for them...

dont pay someone to install, its pretty damn hard to frick it up so just put it in yaself. bypass the ignition and have it hardwired in, lust remember to turn it off when you get home for the night :P

I havnt seen any Kenwood UHF's around..... i looked but couldnt find any as i like the kenwood stuff....

Where can you gt em or am i being naieve?
