Is it possible to engineer a 6 inch lift and 33 x12.5 or 35 x 12.5 ?

THE GRASS MAY BE GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE BUT YOU STILL GOTTA MOW IT.
In QLD - the laws at present are (AFAIK).
Max legal BL is 2" and this must be approved by DMR directly so there are no loopholes.
Max Suspension lift is 1/3 of factory distance between axle and bump stop - so on most 4x4s somewhere between 1-2". No loopholes apart from going through a dodgy blue plater and risking issues later.
Tyres 15mm larger than the largest factory option for that exact vehicle.

I did the body lift, and asked every which way I could think about the tyres. The (very knowledgeable) lady on the Vehicle Modifications line summed it up: they don't want large tyres in Queensland.
My body lift was passed very easily - they didn't attempt to measure the suspension lift, nor question the tyres (technically illegal - 31" tyres vs. 30" standard.)
I did 33" tyres anyway.
The Paj has been passed by the engineer in SA, and is booked in for final inspection.
Then the fun starts with my Sigma.

Track is measured from centreline of tyre to centreline of tyre. Rim width DOES NOT affect your track - offset does. Offset is the distance between the centreline of the rim and the mounting face of the rim. Two different sets of rims with the same offset WILL produce the same track. Rim width has nothing to do with it. It is possible somebody found they couldn't fit the rim width they required without changing their offset - that would be an issue with the vehicle in question, not a legal limitation.

not as simple as it seems... it works for 3 mths which you have to transfer to local rego when you move interstate, cause cops do notice things like that. They did when I did it on my bikes with Vic Rego/insurance which was 1/2 NSW stuff at the time.stinger wrote:There is a simple answer to all this...

eg for a zook 205 is std, mod it for 235 instead. then 31s may be legal on there.

But wouldnt that be illegal cos you changed the tyre placard. If that was the case you could make that crappy sticker for $5 and sell heaps of them that say patrols came factory with every thing from a 29 on 15"rims to 54boggers on what ever size rim they come on. *an engineer can only approve what is set down by qld transport.
*if an engineer approves bigger lift and tyres it would still be illegal because qld transport don't allow it in their list of legal mods.

So we need to change our focus and get more scum to comit more serious crimes more often so the Cookie are to busy otherwise or make sure you're commiting three more serious crimes when you get pulled over cause all my cop mates (and i have a few) say unless they really don"t like you they'll only write 3 tickets at a time

Yep and in Vic thats cos they can write it on one bit of paper that is already in triplecate. Anymore than 3 and they have to right a brief. Which means paper work and coppers are lazy bastards. From memory the old Fourbies Artic Pac 80 Series when through war and piece in NSW to get it engineered and regoed in NSW. I think he used his parents address in NSW. QLD Transport and Police whre very annoyed but could do nothing about it and it spent more time in Qld than in NSW.
My Theory is to by a small bush block in NSW rego the car there and drive it up and take it down to play in the bush block from time to time. Just need the money and time to put in into practice.
