Will a Transfer case from an R series fit a W series gearbox

Post by leehamescort »

Will the transfercase from my R151 Surf gearbox (chain driven) fit an earlier model Hilux gearbox (that would have a gear driven transfer)?

Or vise versa?

Cheers

No...unless you put the input shaft from the appropriate box in the other transfer, then it might..the spline count is different..the housings look thesame...alot better to get the correct transfer and sell your old one.

Thanks, I wanted to keep my transfer as it has reduction gears in it.
