Series 80 Cruiser Intercooler Snorkel

Post by Juzfishin »

I have a 1994 series 80 diesel cruiser which is fitted with an AXT turbo. The intercooler is air to air and has a booster fan fitted to it, which is great at low speeds. Fan runs only when turbo boost reaches pre-set pressure, this can be adjusted. I want to put air into the intercooler.

The fan is not needed at highway speed if I can get the air through the intercooler, the fan can be turned off at highway speeds.
Current Snorkel puts air into the engine.
I want to know if a snorkel is available in the profile that will fit the LHS of the vehicle that can be the air intake for the intercooler, ie cooling air.
I intend to have this air flow through the fan even when the fan is off. But this will allow the fan can do the job at low speeds and high revs, ie no forced air from snorkel. At highway speeds the snorkel forced air will take over and the fan can be turned off.
Any assistance appreciated.
