Got a new motor in the mail today for my winch, and I am having trouble removing the old armature from the winch body. Is there a circlip on the other side of the bearing that I can't see?
Have tried levering it off with big screwdrivers and drill drifts but the bloody thing won't budge.

this has a blow out diagram of the winch...it may help. I have a magnum winch which is pretty much the same thing i now have a xd9000 motor on it. I just undid the bolts and worked it out slowly. its possible the drive shaft may be rusty and is sticking on the splines and you try to pull it out....try some WD40...???

Thanks Dank but I got the bugger out. The bearing was rusted well and truly onto the shaft. I pulled the drum apart and knocked the bearing out of the casing and just went and bought a new bearing, $7.60.
That diagram will come in handy though. Has been ages since I pulled it all apart and the memory is struggling a bit on how it goes back together.

It connects to the motor opposite the 3 terminals that go to the solenoid box. There is one bolt there buy itself, that is the one.mickbeny wrote:Hi all...Ive just re-insalled my xd 9000,And i dont remember where to connect the earth wire from the battery to on the winch.Any help would be appreciated.
Just earth that wire back onto the car somewhere where it will provide a good earth. I attached mine to the bolts underneath the solenoid box that hold it to the bullbar.mickbeny wrote:Hi all...Thanks Philhod. What about the little earth wire from the box,Does it double up with the earth from the battery???
