Marks do a kit to move the pulley inside the vehicle. When I did my conversion i found it would hit the back of the head. I looked at the handbrake relocation kit and decided it would be cheaper and easier to do a 50MM body lift. It all clears now ok.

I used the handbrake setup out of a v6 4runner.
With this setup the handbrake handle does NOT sit any further out of the dash.
It bolts in other then drilling 2 holes (one for cable and one for a bolt)
It moves the cable to the inside of the fire wall as the pully is on the inside. The cable runs down the inside of the fire wall and out threw the floor.
The cable is to short to reach the lever under the cab but I used a 150mm turn buckle to join them together.

Then I can`t see why the v6 runner setup will not work.

It is easy just move it inside use 2 long nuts to space it from firewall rearrange rear mounting and run cable through floor. The handle being a little closer never bothered me.
