Opinions on Vit p/s steer pump
Had a chat with the old man last night and i need to check a few options out

What have people used for a double pulley for the p/s pump of a Vit. I got a barina double V belt pulley from the wreckers with same bolt pattern as the sierra water pump pulley so thats ok but apparently the Vit p/s pump has a ribbed pulley.
Anyone shed some light.

unless you feel like changing all of the pulleys on your engine to multi-v pulleys and get a dual multi-v pulley off a swift or similar , the spidertrax single-v/multi-v pulley would be the go, and as camberraMav said it would save a heap of mucking round.

The pulleys on my 1.3 sierra are V belt pulleys. This is why i am asking if the vitara pump pulley (which i believe is ribbed)can be changed to a V belt pulley.

Well its all done and steers great
I have used full vitara system and used a barina crank double v belt pulley
and had the viatara pump pulley machined off and had the siarra crank pulley outside v section machined and welded on.
I mounted steering box flat to the chassis so i Used vitara uni joint welded to collapsable sierra steering arm to compensate for the angle.
I'll take some pics tomorrow.

I mounted my box flat to the chassis using the front bottom original hole and drilling to new holes. THis requires an extra uni joint though.

Kewl. the other side of the rad was decreased to accommodate the move?
With the plate there is some other things in the way.
With the pump setup, i am guessing u still have the 1.3? on my 1.6 with the pump was v/close to the rhs rad bracket.

Not sure what you mean with the plate comment.
Yea its a 1.3 but my pump was also very close to rhs rad mount.
Took it out on the weekend and it worked a treat. Deffinately one of the best mods ive done.

I agree , Ive been out a couple times for some fairly serious stuff and I run 35's and have had no problems , Ive heard that some overheat but Ive had no dramas turning it while wheeling. Looks good sanger and people don't realise the difference until they do it , Cheers Paul.
BLOWNZUK 1.3 efi,sc14 supercharger,hilux diffs,detroit lockers,stage 4 rockhopper,6 point cage,35 muddies.
I have the vit box and pump off a 2lt (pump different I think) and I have a vit 4 door radiater in there as well, the radiater needed some gentle persuading to get it to fit but the mounts are custom so the origional aren't even on the chassis anymore.
I 3mm plated the outer of chassis from the bottom and rolled it over to meet the inside origional plate at the top and then welded in crush tubes (engineer happy) I dont have any fancy angle brackets and I get full lock easy using a drop pitman arm and full hi-steer which has adjustable drag link.
Rather than risk cooking the oil I run it through a transmission oil cooler in front of radiater and have a switchable thermo fan for hot days when off road.
Never had a problem with lockers and 33s
