Hey again.
Is an injector service, or an upgrade to different injectors over standard recommened at some stage during the life of a diesel.
Mine is the 4M40 N/A in an MK triton. It has 140000km, oil and filter every 7500, all services at dealer up untill 100000 or so then I started doing them myself.
I know it is a small diesel, but I have gone up one tyre size to a 235/70/16 and now my ute has no (less than it did before) power. Especially up hills. I have seen 2.8 N/A diesel hiluxs that run 33's + and they seem to go better than mine even though they have lower power figures as standard compared to the 4M40. Is it all in the gearing?
Would a straight through exhaust help? injector service? a tune up in regards to timing and the chain tension etc.......all help greatly appreciated as I love my ute, but the power situation is #$itting me.....
Thanks

An injector remove and test would be the go. There are no upgraded injectors available.
Altering tyres sizes can shift the area where power happens as well as reducing torque output.
A tune up would help, especially checking all the basics. Then after all that is done, if you still are lacking power you can either decide to exhaust it or turbo it.
