Operation Thermo Fan Replacment

Post by MjWatt »

Alright,

Time has come to replace the radiator fan on my 3.3L Turbo D. MK Patrol with some thermos.

Now, first,

Im thinking of getting a 16' Thermo from SuperCheap as have been trying to source the twin AU Falcon Thermos with no luck.

Do you think the 16' Thermo will be enough?

Whats the best way to wire one of these in? Should i just wire it into the ignition so it comes on when i turn the truck on?

I have not removed the engine fan yet... thats this weekend.

Any one have any recommenedations or stuff to look out for?

Thanks

Watto

You can wire them from a sender which goes in your hose. As temps rise they will switch fans on. You can also just use a switch on the dash and put it on off manually. Doing it that way mate just take a feed from Battery.....fuse it and use a relay.

16" is not terribly large, really if you can afford it you should go for the biggest one that will physically fit in the space, basically.

I'd personally way prefer a thermostat type switch but they can be a bit pricey. If you're keeping it as cheap as possible concentrate your $$ on a bigger fan though.
This is not legal advice.
