i have no first hand experience, this only goes from what i have read on pirate
when you land on your roof, that tube has no brace and has a bend in it, which will weaken it, and will kink out once weight is applied to the top.
if you removed the half way bends, and took the cross brace to the base of the roll bar it will a lot stronger and safer
a lot like scotts tray

Thanks for all the feedback guys. the reason we didnt run the crossbrace to the bottom is that we wouldnt be able to get it into place as the tray legs get in the way. I like scotts setup but our hoops will be independant from the tray and be bolted directly to the chassi and the lower section will help protect the sills and finish it off better in my opinion.
NAM what you did is what we had in mind.
Thanks guys.

You dont get much done in 2 half hours, getting the pipe cuts at the right angles so they fit neatly over the tube takes ages especially when you are using a hole saw and hand drill.

I could'nt see how that would be quicker or more accurate, but hey this is the first time l have ever done this sort of thing, so you could be right.
