Thread Repair - Nth Sydney

Hi all,

Have got two snapped exhaust studs in my TD42 and need thread repair mob to come and fix it up, do you know of anyone who does this that services the north shore?

By the way, no it wasn't me that snapped them, just old age and fatigue i guess.

Can't drill it out and retap , or drill a small hole and use EZY out , Cheers Paul.

Thanks for the help MART, Could do but need a 90 degree drill which I don't have, and would rather pay the $$ to someone who knows what they're doing and get them both out without any hassles and cleanly. I'll ring a few people I know around the place on Monday and see what I can find if nothing pops up on here.

I know makita make a 90 degree drill , I would also change all the studs , Cheers Paul.

dont try it ur self especially if ya havent done it before and especially with exhaust studs, i used to go out on site and do repairs like these and sum were a real pita, but it was made easier with a spark eroder

, also ring around sum of the machine/engineering shops most of the time they do this as a side line.

yeah, make sure all studs are replaced, if a couple of old ones havbe broken, they remaining ones once a few have being rteplaced will prolly break very soon

Yep going to get new ones tomorrow.

I searched my ass off in yellowpages and I found action thread repair and thats all I could find, I will give them a call on Monday morning and see if I can get him here.

Yeah Greg from Action Thread Repair came and did the job today, he was done and dusted in 15 mins then put all new studs in for me! Good bloke. Was a bit more exy than I expected but hge came to me and better than me phucking it up and making it worse, I think it was worth it myself.
