Terrano's

Post by tritontray »

Hi can anyone shed some light on the 1998 2.7 T/D Terrano. For some reason I really like the look of them, add to that a nissan badge and I want one. And for a medium size car, would suit my needs very nicely. Can anyone give me any info at all on these cars in regards to lift mods, accessories and basically if they are a good vehicle or not. Would be more set up as a tourer, not a for smashing the living daylights out of it.

Many thanks. I have done a search, but didn't find what I was after.

Thanks

I owned a 99 petrol brand new to about 6 months ago when I sold it on - I was very happy with its capability off-road. It's lightweight and the LO gearing is excellent. I went everywhere, up dry loose shale mountain tracks and on sand dunes with balloon tires. Went on 2-3 night trips - kept surprising everyone with what it could do.

Problems were that parts are super-expensive where I live and only available from dealership; A/C sucked big time (in fact, rigged a sheet of plastic just behind 2nd row seat); it's a bit narrow and high for good stability off-camber; and absolutely no aftermarket parts.

I wouldn't want a second-hand one in my garage.

I have an '04 with the optional ZD30 out of the Patrol and love it ! I developed a 100mm suspension kit by myself (which will be avail. to the market by Trailmaster international in Europe soon), added a winch bumper and a 8k MileMarker winch, some 265/70-16 Cooper STT's on 16x8 ROH alloys. Offroad very capable and underestimated. Having a weight of less than 2 tons is a big plus !!

Hopefully some australian owners (there has to be someone) can give me some more info.
