100 Series Transfer case queries
From what I can find the 100 Series cruisers came with 2 or 3 transfer cases
HF1A - part time 4wd
HF2A - Full time 4wd
HF2AV - Full time with Viscous LSD. I don't know which version 100 Series got these.
I *believe* there is a PTO option on the HF1A, although google can't find me stuff all on it. Is there anyone out there who knows about the PTO option? Specifically could the HF2A be modified to take it?
Thanx
Paul

Paul...your clutching at straws...the first two are available, the part timer in a turbo diesel 78/79. The part time transfer in a 100 is actually behind an r151 gearbox previously used in things like supras, prados, hilux's, so it would start with an r....all 78/79/100 1hz's have the r box
Next the h2a is in the gxl petrols and turbo diesel manual or auto.
No Viscous in the 100...only the 80

Cept mine is a HZJ105 n/a Diesel GXL - with A343F and HF2A. Must be a rare combination.dow50r wrote:Paul...your clutching at straws...the first two are available, the part timer in a turbo diesel 78/79. OK...i forgot about that variation....the 100 did come out with auto 1hz in the rv right... does the compliance say a343f? I have never checked, but presumed it was an a442f as in the petrol and turbo diesel... In America, all the later 80 series 95 on, had a343's aswell. In that case (haha) your transfer is the hf2a....the viscous didnt come out in the 100.
A nice base for a hdfte conversion your 100....archerfield wreckers do them...

I saw a 1HDFT at archerfield, the FTE is aparrantly far too hard to wire succesfully. $12K was above my bracket however.dow50r wrote:OK...i forgot about that variation....the 100 did come out with auto 1hz in the rv right... does the compliance say a343f? Jerry on lcool got a hdft from sydney for 7500....and he swapped his 5 speed and transfer for the hdft ones plus $1k...so there are wreckers out there that do cheaper....the fte is alot of wiring, you need complete dash etc..but with a donor vehicle to use bits from...its possible. hdft would be the easiest and best conversion.
