Currently fitting a set of EL falcon rear discs + calipers to a 2wd buggy.
top speed around 200kph
Due to clearance + bleeding issues - I was planning to swap the calipers LHS one (from the front of the disc- 2oclock) to the RHS (rear of the disc - 10 oclock).
But will this work the same ??- as the disc is now spinning the reverse way thru the calipers. I realise at slow speeds it wont make any difference - but is there any angles build into the calipers that make them work better with the disk running fwds rather than backwards ??

Reversing my calipers - do they work the same in reverse ??

So you want to swap your rear calipers from the front of the rear diff , to the rear of the rear diff. If that is correct just swap the left to the right and the right to the left and mount them on the back of the diff. Swapping them will leave the bleeder nipples on the top , so you shouldn't have any issues with direction and do they have a handbrake mechanism on them as well or have they removed it by that model , cheers Paul.

If the pistons are offset, then you'll have pad wear issues.
On some calipers the pistons are offset to the front of the pad, the turning disc tries to rotate the pad forward, evening out the pressure and wear.
If you run such a caliper backwards then your pads will wear wedgeshaped.
If your calipers don't have offset pistons, then ignore this post.

I take it by your user name you have a hilux. It is a front rodeo rotor , with a zj falcon rear caliper. The plate which holds it on is 15.5mm steel with 2 steps of 4mm machined into it.
There are a few measurements missing , you need to measure your caliper.

These are my old ones , they were welded and they must be one piece , so I had to make new one's.

I used a 100mm holesaw first to cut the step , once done I bored a 83 mm holesaw through the same centre hole. I clamped a piece of metal on the end where the half moon is an used an 83mm holesaw to cut the half moon aswell. The plate was machined , stepped by Glen Dobbin and the plate tapped 12mm to bolt calipers on. Used cutting oil from a sprinkler screwing machine to lubricate the holesaws. The mounting bolts are 10 x 40 high tensile bolts with nyloc nuts , The new brackets are thicker and wider steel , Cheers Paul
