Warn M8000 Winch Trouble Shooting

Post by dogeatdog01 »

Hi,
I just acquired a second hand Warn M8000 D1 winch.
All F1, F2, A and +ve and -ve leads run to their respective locations, but when I try to run the winch, nothing happens.
I have concluded the winch drum seems ok as it free spools freely,
I cant even hear a click coming from the solenoid box when I apply power.

What trouble shooting steps can I take to figure out whats wrong.
I have tried to search for relevent information but im not striking any gold.

i just found this topic.

When I first connected the wire to the armiture 'A', the stud was loose.

Could this be the cause of the problem? As the wire inside the housing may have shorted.
