Re: 5L EFI in to 88 middy
The middy has the same engine bay as a troopy or ute.boy-c wrote:hey all got 88 middy with the 3f petrol box want more power looking at a holden 5L to drop in front, just wondering if it is say the same with the utes or troopies. as far as engine bay goes?

Marks adaptors have an adaptor for a holden v8.
Just bought another middy with injected 5ltr into turbo 700 into gq transfer, sitting on 80 series chassi with obviously coils all round an 80 diffs, it was an unfinshed project so still alittle bit to go but for $4000 ya can't go wrong. And it all looks factory so easy for engineering.

v8 conversion
have finished the conversion in my 75 series took a lot of work but well worth it in the end, its all the little things that get to you

come on move over and let the 75 through
MAin problem I ran into was the angle of the drive line after the conversion caused the rear drive shaft to push on the diff and I had 5mm clearance between the front driveshaft and the chassis cross member.
Luckily, I had put in a body lift while the engine was out so the gearbox was lifted about 50mm, drive shafts re-sized to suit and the whole thing worked with no need to extend gearsticks etc.
Budget for a decent custom exhaust and an aftermarket radiator to get the most out of it.
As with any conversion, there is a heap of teething provlems to work through. Any other questions, ask away.
