hey, looking at replacing my sump gasket over the weekend and hav eread my gregorys and seems pretty simple, actually looks very easy to be done and was wondering is there any advice anyone has befor proceding and anything else i should check whilst the sump is off??

Sometimes the sump can be very difficult to separate from the block--particulary if its been there for a while.

Don't lose the split pin if you need to take the drag link off to get the sump out! :oops: Hope that makes sense and gives you a pointer a well! :lol:

thanx guys,

do i just use a rubber mallet to get sump off by hitting it gently if its being ther a while or flat head screwdriver??

I ended up having to use a portapower ram between the chassis and a corner of the sump to break mine free. Carefull when tightening the bolts at the very back, as they screw into the aluminium surround of the main oil seal retainer.
