Sydney 4WD Clubs Expo Sunday 6th May 2007

Post by CV Smasher »

The Sydney Regional Council of the 4WD NSW & ACT clubs Association is hosting a 4WD Expo on Sunday the 6th of May 2007 between 9am and 4pm at Carysfield Park (Johnston Road) Bass Hill NSW.

Invitations are going out to all affilliated clubs in the Greater Sydney Region to put on a display of their members vehicles, camping equipment and competition vehicles.

Last year we had a great turn out but would like to see more this year.
Anyone can attend on the day, admission is free and food and drinks will be avaliable for purchase so bring the family out and help us promote responsilbe four wheel driving to the general public.

You can vote for your favorite display and trophys will be awarded for the best vehicles in various catagories.
The best overall club perpetual trophy will be up for grabs so get hold of your association delagate or club secretary at your next meeting and tell them you want in. First clubs in will get their pick of spot to set up their display.

Come and help your Association promote responsible 4WDing and 4x4 extreme sport by setting up a display or just attending.

For more info contact me.

We are also looking for sponsors who would like to donate some prizes for the winners in return for some space to set up a display of their product or service.

We are also interested in having a few rock buggys on display.

If anyone is interested please call or email me.

Good to see the effort (and early planning :) ) going into this. Well done Chris!

Unfortunately I can't make it (scheduled to do club driver awareness that day :? ), but Blue Mountains will be there again to defend our title!!!
Cheers, Tony

It will be a tuff title to defend this year! ;)

The awards will be based on peoples choice so the more effort you put into your display to attract a crowd, the better your chances are of people voting for you

We are working on that at present, there is only 1 power pole so distribution will be difficult.
It would be better if culbs could use 12 volt supply from their vehicles and inverters if needed.

Cheers,
Dex.

This year the event is open to all clubs in the Sydney region that are a member of the 4wd clubs association of NSW & ACT.

Invitations will go out this week to all the clubs concerned.

If all goes well this year we will consider opening it up to all NSW & ACT clubs.

There were 13 clubs last year, I'm sure with the early notice and better planning there will be heaps more this time

I would also like to see more 'comp style' vehicles on display, but it's really about the full spectrum of what 4WD clubs have to offer.

As an free event open to the Joe & Jane Public, we want him/her/their family to see what 4WDing has to offer as a recreation, which includes touring, camping and comps.

I wish the event every success, and will be urging my club to put on another great display.
Cheers, Tony

So far we have 6 clubs already confirmed for the expo. They are:

Rare Breed
Jackaroo
AT4
Kamikaze
Subaru
Blue Mountains

There will be a few of the tuff truck vehicles on display. I was informed last night that the Tuff Truck winner Mal Van Ysseldyk will be putting the Bushranger on display along with Athol Halverson and his Big Zook that came in 4th and even The Big White Fridge 80 series will be making an apperance.

The clubs that have confirmed their attendance are already working on their displays so if your club wants to take part please let me know ASAP so we can reserve you a spot.

We are still looking for donations of prizes so if anyone can help out please let me know.

Trophies will be awarded for the best pre 80's, pre 90's, pre 2000, post 2000 and best modified the same as last year and the perpetual club trophy will be passed on to this years winner so dont forget to bring it on the day Blue Mountains club.
The difference with this years expo is that it will be based on public votes not awarded by a single judge.
