Would something like this be suitable for sticking in the hot and vibration prone engine bay of a 4WD though??

Sounds like it would be better suited to a camper or tray installation.

Thoughts?

Vibration seems to be fine. Heat may be a problem. Opinions vary. Some swear they are fine, others have stories. Most stories are 3rd hand.

Personally, I'm putting a sheet of thin aluminium between it and the engine bay to keep cooler air around it.

This price seems to be nearly $100 below anyone else and $50 below their other website. It may be a mistake, but they honoured mine before changing theor other site.

I have a Fullriver AGM under the bonnet of the Paj, and I put in an aluminium heat shield similar to Paul's description (although mine was primarily to shield the Jaycar controller - it would turn off if it got too warm under the bonnet.)

Unfortunately, I'm not using it much atm, so I can't offer much feedback, other than it did survive the Simpson.
