Cheezy Sliders There Strength Vs other brands..

hi

i'm in the market for some sliders..

I'm currently going to buy some Cheezy sliders that weld to the chassis or something i was told.

How strong are these fellas?

I'm getting a set for a pretty good price and just woundering are they the ducks guts or not?

I havent had a set of Marks sliders ...but from what I've seen and read I dont think you will have any issues ..He knows his shite and I'm sure they will last you well .....

You may of got better replys if you put this topic in the nissan section

I thought it was best not to weld them to the chassis?

I'm 90% sure that cheezys use as I did when I had the mav plates welded to the chassis and then the slider plates bolt to these ......it prob doesnt change alot to be honest , most of the time engineers dont like things welded to the chassis because they tend to think that it stops the normal built in chassis rail flex .....but if the sliders a bolted on tight to a rail it will have same effect to a point ....although if there is alot of movement I guess there would be no worries of the rails cracking


I welded mine on .....and had it engineered and also had no issues as plenty of people have on outers

From what i've seen Cheezy's gear is Good stuff, I had one of his front bars also & wow those centre's are tuff, He isn't going to build stuff that'll bend..... Too easy anyway :lol:

Thanks alot for that i just didn't wanna spend a fair bit of cash on them and find them bend up and hit my sills as i like to do things right and get it done properly..

Well i think i'll go with buying them as them seem nice and strong by the replys..


Just woundering i'm also buying a pair of lower arms off him 16mm longer then factory fixed ones not adjustable how do they go strength wise?

Put it this way, if you buy it off him & it break for some unkown reason he will replace it
Unless of course it is past a certain point of abuse

Cheezy's Rear arms are among the strongest around

Cheezy's done my suspension work on mine and I've had the car in stupid places & positions (I even had the front of the car fall into an underground river - the track collapsed under me and the weight was on the front arms) and the arms are STRONG AS.
The sliders he makes are tuff as too, rocks are scared of them :shock: .

That's always good to hear as i like when things are built tough and will last and not fall apart in 6 months time ..

Now i can't wait to get myself a set i just got to make sure that the ones he has are sliders he called them "sliders" but he said that had a alloy top and i then said oh and said it comes off or something so i just gota make sure there the ones that tuck up nice and tight and not the flat ones that somtimes have that bar that goes from them to the bullbar.

my mate has a set on his gu, he thought they flexed up and dinted his sill!! on further investigation it was found that they didnt flex at all, the chassis flex's and the rails dont.....hence the dint in the sill.

im still getting a set for my gq though!

I've brought this up before, but have you thought about what might happen to the paint on the inside of the chassi rail where you are welding?

Hate to see em fall off some time down the track, especially if you do some beach work.

Yeah mate good point i wounder what i can do ...

As my car will see the beach a fair bit every year ..
